The White Sox are working on a deal to bring gold glove center fielder Torii Hunter to Chicago. Hunter would join Paul Konerko, recently acquired Orlando Cabrera, Jim Thome, and Jermaine Dye to form a potent offense. According to The Chicago Sun Times, Hunter could be signed within the week.
Update: Torii Hunter’s camp has denied reports out of Chicago, and could be discussing a possible 5 year deal with Tom Hicks and the Texas Rangers . Salary has been freed up in Texas, now that they are no longer on the hook for a large portion of ARod’s salary. They have targeted Hunter, and appear to be going after him hard.
Update: Torii Hunter is being pursued by the Texas Rangers as well according to The Dallas Morning News.
