According to Troy E. Renck of The Denver Post, the Minnesota Twins are interested in fee agent right-hander Josh Fogg. The team contacted his agent yesterday, and talks appear pretty serious. If the Johan Santana trade with the Mets is finalized, we might expect a move to sign Fogg fairly quickly. The Twins are looking for a veteran to anchor the staff along with young stud Francisco Liriano. Fogg confirmed the Twins interest. 

Fogg, apparently nicknamed the “Dragonslayer” by his Colorado Rockies teammates last season (as noted in this piece), went 10-9 with a 4.94 ERA in 2007. He is a career .500 pitcher, with an ERA hovering near 5.00. Still, it would be a decent pickup for the Twinkies, assuming the length of any deal isn’t more than 2-3 years.
