The Cincinnati Enquirer is reporting that 1st baseman/outfielder Craig Wilson, who signed a minor league deal with the Reds less than two weeks ago, has left the team’s Spring Training camp because he failed his physical.

The Reds would not comment on the reason for the failure and were vague when asked if it’s possible the slugger will return to the team. Said GM Wayne Krivsky (who must be FURIOUS  about this) when asked of that possibility: ”I don’t know. We’ll see.”

Wilson has a .262 career average with 99 home runs and 292 RBI in seven seasons. He missed time last year due to bone spurs in his right shoulder.
