Clemens’ “Service Contract” with Astros in Jeopardy
UPDATE: (3/1) 12:00am (EST) - According to Foxsports, Astros’ owner Drayton McLane has said he expects to honor the 10-year personal service contract of Roger Clemens.
Feb 28 - According to Foxsports, Roger Clemens’ 10-year service contract he signed with the Houston Astros’ organization could be voided, depending on the result of an investigation as to whether or not he lied to congress about his use of performance enhancing drugs. Astros’ owner Drayton McLane has been supportive of Clemens for the most part, but is now taking a “wait and see approach”. The negative publicity that may follow Clemens for years to come may be too much for the Astros’ owner.
Clemens has been throwing and working out at Astros’ camp, bringing negative media along with him. McLane might soon decide to cut these activities off as well.

Um , yea. Clemens is going to have a difficult time fulfilling that contract while in federal prison.
