According to Jason Beck at MLB.com, the Detroit Tigers traded 31-year old reliever Jason Grilli to the Colorado Rockies for 21-year old minor-league prospect Zach Simons, a righty relief pitcher. Grilli has been with the Tigers since the 2005 season. He had a 3.29 ERA in 13 2/3 innings pitched in ‘08.

UPDATE: Buster Olney is reporting that the initial review of Jorge Posada’s shoulder showed no significant damage. So perhaps we won’t be seeing the ‘Stache in pinstripes any time soon. This is great news for Yankees fans, but they’re certainly not out of the woods yet.

UPDATE: (4/25) 4:20pm (EST) - According to mlb.com, there appears to be no structural damage in Cordero’s shoulder.
