Injury Notes: Sheets, Glavine, Lo Duca, Kendrick

Just wanted to get you guys caught up on a couple of injury notes from Friday evening around baseball:
- Brewers ace Ben Sheets threw five innings of two-hit, shutout ball Friday night against the Reds, but then he left with soreness in his right triceps. He threw only 60 pitches, striking out 4 batters and walking none. Early word is that he left for precautionary reasons, but when Sheets is involved, there has to be a major level on concern. Stay tuned.
- Braves left-hander Tom Glavine was placed on the 15-day DL afterall. Remarkably, this will be his first time on the disabled list in his 22-year major-league career. Quite amazing. Injuries have not been kind to the Braves’ pitching staff in this early season. Chuck James was called up from AAA to replace Glavine in the rotation.
- Following tonight’s game, Nationals catcher Paul Lo Duca was placed on the 15-day DL, retroactive to April 14th. He has stiffness and bruising in his right wrist, after being hit with a pitch by Braves pitcher Jeff Bennett. Nationals starting pitcher Shawn Hill was activated by the club.
- Angels 2B Howie Kendrick was also placed on the 15-day DL following Friday’s game, retroactive to April 14th. He has a strained left hamstring.
