Polanco Has MRI; Comes Back Negative

Detroit Tigers’ second baseman Placido Polanco had an MRI on his sore back on Monday, and the results showed nodamage or major issues. Polanco has been struggling with the bat thus far in ‘08, but the doctors have given him medication to treat the ailment. It is supposedly going to work very quickly. Must be some potent pills!

Jim Leyland said, “If he’s alright, I’ll play him.” Polanco is hitting just .148 in 54 at-bats this season, after posting a spectacular line of .341/.388/.258 during the 2007 campaign.
