Dan Johnson Designated for Assignment
Posted on April 23rd, 2008 by Old Navy King
According to Bill Chastain at MLB.com, just one day after reporting to the team, first baseman Dan Johnson was designated for assignment by the Tampa Bay Rays. Last Friday, the Rays claimed Johnson after the Oakland A’s had placed him on waivers.
It seems Johnson was sent down to make room on the team’s 25-man roster for outfielder Gabe Gross, who the Rays acquired from the Milwaukee Brewers just yesterday in a trade for a pitching prospect. Johnson can’t seem to catch a break.
