In more Tigers’ news, Detroit has announced that Miguel Cabrera will begin playing 1st base on a regular basis. This move shifts Carlos Guillen to 3rd base. Since Miggy has already signed a long-term deal, getting his cheddar, I’m sure such a move will not be too bothersome for him.

That didn’t take long, did it? It was inevitable that Cabrera would have to DH or shift positions sooner or later. He simply is weak at the hot corner. This move should strengthen the Detroit defense on the lines. It will be interesting to see how Cabrera adjusts to the move.
