Hudson Refutes Reports of Fleece Attempt
According to the East Valley Tribune, Diamondbacks second baseman Orlando Hudson had requested in the neighborhood of $15 million/season while trying to work out a new deal with the D’Backs. We had previously commented on this article, deeming it a blatant fleece attempt by the second baseman. While Hudson is an amazing defensive player, and solid offensive player, $15 million a season is outrageous.
In a report by mlb.com, we learn that there has been no new news in regards to the contract talks between the two
parties. According to Hudson, the two sides aren’t discussing it at this point in time, but he did express a strong desire to remain in Arizona. Hudson did not offer much else, but he did deny the report from the Easy Valley Tribune, citing it as “false”.
With all do respect, Orlando, that report better have been false. As good as he is, $15 million is not an attainable number for Hudson.
