Rollins Could Return This Week

According to the Philadelphia Daily News, Phillies’ shortstop Jimmy Rollins has left the team to begin a re-hab assignment in Clearwater, FL. Rollins will determine whetherhe partakes in extended spring training, or plays in three or four games for a Class-A ball-club. Rollins is hoping to return to the Phillies by Thursday where the team plays Arizona.

Rollins has pretty much been out of action since April 8th, longer than initially expected, that’s for sure. Thanks to Chase Utley’s ridiculously hot start, the team is still in very good shape, despite Rollins’ month long absence. Philly currently holds a .5 games lead over Florida and New York, while Atlanta trails by 2 games.
